Feeding the Hungry

St. Peter’s FEED THE HUNGRY PROGRAM:  Jesus said: “Feed my Sheep”.

Can you spare a few hours every 4-5 weeks to volunteer in a very special ministry?

St. Peter’s Feed the Hungry Program has served the Huntington community for more than 20 years.  Teams of volunteers from the congregation shop for and deliver healthy foods to local program sites several times each week.  The program provides for needy families and children in our midst.

Currently St. Peter’s Feed the Hungry volunteers shop for and deliver food to a local agencies; the Helping Hand Rescue Mission in Huntington Station.   Our teams  provide fresh food for the the many people they serve.

Would you like to be part of this amazing ministry?  Hours for shopping and delivery are flexible to fit your schedule.  To find out more about how you can join the St. Peter’s team speak with Jane Maresco, Feed the Hungry Program Coordinator, 385-9737 or email:  jcmdoer@verizon.net.

FEEDING THE HUNGRY THIS YEAR

This year there is an enormous number of folks in our communities that have food insecurity. In addition to our yearlong help for both St. Joseph’s Storehouse and Helping Hands Rescue, we have two special opportunities to help in the coming months.  Thanksgiving Baskets and Thrivent Action Program. Read below for details. Thank you for your continued generosity to those most vulnerable.

We collected 813 food items for the Thrivent Action Program.  The foood was donated to the Helping Hand Rescue Mission and they will receive a $500 check from Thrivent.
